Assistant Director of Pegasus talks about China's film industry

Tian Hanzong was Jason Shi's guest on the episode of Arete's Inspiration Series podcast. Tian was an Assistant Director on the 2019 Chinese action-comedy blockbuster Pegasus written and directed by Han Han and starring Shen Teng and Huang Jingyu. The film made USD255 million at the global box office.

Tian talked to Jason about applying for film-related degree programmes in the USA and the job opportunities for new film graduates in the US. He spoke about her personal experiences in filmmaking and his route into beginning a career as a film director. In particular, Tian shared interesting insights regarding the value of overseas study experience to a career in China's film industry.  Of course, Tian also shared his personal views on the medium of film as an art.
