INSTITUTIONAL INVESTING IN THE 21ST CENTURY

The Managing Director of Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI), Will Wang, delighted eager Arete finance students when he visited the Arete Ningbo Campus to talk about careers in institutional investing. Will travelled to Ningbo from Beijing to talk about  BAIs global investment strategy focusing on high growth opportunities in the economies of Brazil, China, India and USA, and his management of the organisation's fund in China.

Will explained how BAI makes strategic acquisitions of shareholdings in innovative new media, internet, online education, new technologies, outsourcing and service businesses in China and owns over 70 startup businesses in China.

During his interactive session, Will invited Arete students to ask detailed questions about the institutional investment industry and took the time to explain how various investment models worked in practice.

Will was in high demand during networking drinks following his session with the large number of students hoping for a lucrative career in finance.
